A Gap Year to Tanzania, volunteering with The Leap, will ensure you see all the highlights this fantastic country has to offer whilst heading off the tourist trail to live amongst colourful tribes, Maasai warriors and famous wildlife.

From the foothills of Mount Kilimanjaro, to the plains of the Serengeti, to the exotic charms of the Indian Ocean Coast and Zanzibar Island – prepare to be wowed.

Yet despite its attractions, Tanzania has managed to remain unassuming and low-key with tribes who rub along happily together. With their characteristic warmth and politeness, dignity and beauty, it is they who will inevitably wind up being your highlight.  Chances are your gap year won’t be enough and you’ll be back for more, to which most Tanzanians will say ‘karibu tena’  - welcome again!

Arusha
First Phase spent in and around Arusha and Moshi the ‘safari capital’ close to the slopes of Mt Kilimanjaro and some of the world’s best game parks.

Lake Manyara
Spend a week living in a tented safari camp beside this spectacular Lake surrounded by some of Africa’s best game.

Dar es Salaam
Third phase spent in and around Tanzania’s bustling coastal port which has great beaches and excellent coral reefs.
