Briefing Days

We hold regular briefing and training days close to our office in Wiltshire. The purpose of these is to brief you and your parents (who we encourage to attend) on all aspects of your placement, to confirm you have chosen the most appropriate placement and ensure the experience we are providing would suit you.  If it is impossible for you to come then don’t worry we can cover everything over the telephone or in our office at a mutually convenient time.

We normally get between 10 to 20 people on a course.  Hopefully you will get the chance to meet others from your team and others who have recently returned, who come with a medley of stories...

The day starts at about 9.30, ends about 3.00ish and covers:
    •    Your project work and location details
    •    Details of your induction and safety briefing on arrival
    •    Your project management, contact details and support
    •    Your insurance
    •    Your flights and visas
    •    Fun things to do at weekends on your time off
    •    Costs and spending money
    •    Our donations to the communities
    •    Dealing with problems and complaints
    •    Our values and what we expect from you
    •    Staying in touch
    •    Clothing and equipment
    •    Advise on how to travel safely after the placement
    •    General country advice - religion, dress, customs etc

The day is full on but we do try to make it enjoyable!
