Be part of the 2010 Dream Team: Horse Safari and volunteer in South Africa
filed in Announcements, South Africa on Dec.23, 2009
If you’ve ever shared our childhood dream of galloping across African plains, scattering herds of impala, giraffe and wildebeest as you charge through the early morning mist then it’s time to wake up and smell the saddle soap! We have a BRAND NEW HORSE SAFARI TEAM project for 2010 which will make your dream a reality.
Join the team and you’ll be based at Kwa Madwala, a stunning ‘Big 4’ (leopard, lion, elephant and rhino) 4000 hectare game reserve, situated just South of the Kruger National Park between Swaziland and Mozambique, home to a renowned safari lodge and wonderful riding terrain!
Spend your mornings tracking game on horseback, surveying the wildlife, looking out for signs of poaching and damage to fences. You’ll also help to feed and care for Kwa’s herd of hardy bush Boereperde horses, assisting the lovely local grooms. Then in the afternoon you’ll join other Leap volunteers working on a range of conservation and community projects while experiencing the adventure of animal safaris, elephant rides, micro-lighting, rifle shooting, 4×4 driving and much, much more.
This is a totally unique and unbeatable way to experience everything that stunning South Africa has to offer, whilst indulging your passion for horses and wildlife and really making a difference to the people you meet.
We have teams departing for 6-10 week placements in April, July and January every year, so if you’re a keen bean let us know quick- places on the first team (starting March 30th 2010) are filling up fast!
