Kenya September Team Update 1:
filed in Kenya on Sep.07, 2010
Just went up to say ‘Jambo’ to the Leap team and wanted to let you know that they are doing really well. Very happy, positive and working hard! I caught up with them at Ngozini Primary School which is on the border of Mwaluganje Elephant Sanctuary and they were busy making bricks for the new kitchen we are building. I took lots of photos of the old kitchen, the clearing for the new one and guys in action which I hope you enjoy…might make you feel a bit sweaty!
School just started back yesterday after the long Summer holidays and we are in the final week of Ramadhan so it is only half days at the schools, but the team will start helping to teach here next week which everyone seems to be looking forward to.
There are loads of elephants around at the moment and the team tell me that they sat up watching elephants really close to camp yesterday evening. They will also spend some time working with a new women’s group in the area this week and will start the first of three livestock treatment sessions tomorrow. Let the goat catching commence!
All in all, off to a good start : )

Hi Dipesh
Thanks for this update and sorry for taking so long to get back to you but we was on holiday and didn’t expect to hear anything so soon so this is great. It sounds as if they are having an an amazing time (even though hard work in the heat), but great to get the photos. What an experience!
