Good team times at Diani Beach, Kenya!

Unbelievably it’s the Leapers last day on the project in Kenya (boo!) and the end of an incredible 10 week gap year placement. Some of the team are returning home tomorrow but most have decided to head off to Zanzibar for a well earned beach break, plus a taste of the fantastic full moon parties offered by the Spice Island. Bitten by the gap year bug anyone?

The last few weeks of the project in Tsavo have been among their most successful with the team being amazingly productive and managing to complete all of the projects listed below. Well done chaps..we can’t wait to see the photos!

In the past few weeks the team…

  • made 453 bricks at Kiteghe for the women basket weavers house.
  • fixed Sasenyi road.
  • cleaned inflow channel of goa water hole
  • made teaching aid materials at Sasenyi school
  • dismantled model of elephant in the camp
  • taught lessons at Sasenyi school
  • started digging foundation at itinyi school when visited imani group.
  • did a wildlife survey in the sanctuary
  • painted classroom at Sasenyi and also wrote mission, vision and school rules on the administration block at Sasenyi school.

Well done each and every one of you, we are so proud of your hard work and the difference it has made to the community and wildlife at Sasenyi and women of  Kiteghe village.
