Leapers modelling the house they've (expertly!) built

These last 2 weeks have been a massive highlight for the January Leapers in Kenya. Some of them fulfilled their dreams of teaching  in a Kenyan school because most of the afternoons was spent on teaching. Volunteer instructed computing classes to the teachers and local students went so well. This is the first time that the teachers got the opportunity to learn about computers thanks to the project, which has installed electricity to the school!

They are also putting the final touches to the old mans house which should be finished any time soon.  They have worked tirelessly and they are looking forward  to see it’s completion.

They have also started the foundation of the  marine office and we hope to lay more bricks this coming week. Most of those projects are community based and an opportunity for the community to get involved.

Baby weighing on Thursdays also went well at the hospital where 2 leapers gets a chance to participate. There is a lot to do because we still have the marine project to do and also palm leaf weaving.

Friday afternoon was spent with the local women’s group showing the leapers how to make soap from aloe vera and also chapati making. We just brought the a lot of new seedlings so they can increase their aloe vera products.

We also had a netball game between the Leap girls and Makongeni girls where the leapers won 6- 5 not forgetting that Makongeni is the best in the location level. What a performance!
