South Africa Team Update 2: September 2009
filed in South Africa on Sep.23, 2009
News just in from South Africa Team Leader Louise:
After the group did the various township tours last week, they decided unanimously to channel their funds into a community project at Sivudlindela, purchasing paint and finishing work on the orphanage. The group went to Swaziland and thoroughly enjoyed the cultural show; some of the 6 weekers opted for quad biking and caving and everyone had a blast at the live music show at the entertainment venue. You can see a video of what they were treated to here.
The new week saw elephant back safari’s and teaching, experiences that all were overwhelmed with. The end of the week was the implementation of outreach and all buckled down to the paint job. This week was back on the job (to finish painting) and pack for Mozambique, which is happening tomorrow. Woooooo!
The girls were not much enamored with the football games arranged for Sundays, so they were given trekking with elephants and exclusive drives which they enjoyed.
Everyone is as fit as fiddlers!
