Hi again!

It’s been another good productive week in sunny South Africa! The past week the team have been very involved in the community with both building of the orphanage as well as teaching and playing sport at the local rural school. At the orphanage the group used their donation money and bought the materials needed to complete the new classroom which included roofing sheets, cement, bricks, doors, glass, rafters and their sweat it took to complete the room! The volunteers did everything with the watchful eye from a professional builder (John) on site. Whilst one half of the team was busy sweating it out on the building site the others were doing their turn, teaching and playing sport with the kids, even some Scottish highland dancing come out during a culture lesson. This week we also played our second match as the ‘Mock Charge’s against one of the rural teams.

Next week we off to Mozambique to relax on the beaches and swim with whale sharks, this coming will be especially good as the team has been working hard for the first three weeks on their respective community and conservation projects.

Poor Jo on the horse team took a hoof to the nose at the end of the week but she is recovering well, the swelling and bruising are going down and her spirits are picking up. She was given the OK by doctors to ride and she enjoyed a three hour horse back safari yesterday through Kwa’s river bed and a two hour safari this afternoon.

Hope you are well, Luke (S.A project Leader)
