Borneo

Team times!

For the last couple of weeks our Leapers have played an important role working alongside the skilled local project staff and community at Camp Mantanani; getting involved and committed,  gained mental and physical strength, overcome obstacles and have done a remarkable job to finish a volleyball court from scratch putting a big smile and excitement to kids at SK Mantanani Primary School.

The projects we undertake are initiatives that the parents, teachers and the community as a whole requested. Great efforts were put in prior to any projects and we have bonded and built strong relationships making all things possible.

Volleyball court what we built!

A volleyball court may seem like an easy thing to construct. All you need is a post, net and volleyball right? Well, it is not as easy as it seems. In our case we had to get supplies from mainland and transfer them on a local fishermen’s wooden boat and gappers at the receiving end had to shift  50 cement bags, 8 tonnes of aggregates 250 meters away from the jetty to the school plus loads of energy and sweat in a very hot and humid climate (see update number 5!!!). That is one great challenge to endure!

And like all other projects that we do, we see it to its completion!

Build it then teach it!

Congratulations to all the Leapers involved in adding the only sports facility at SK Mantanani Primary School.  The project couldn’t have happened without your hard work and a great team spirit to make it happen!

We hope to be able to help where needed and do more projects.

YOU can help too! Come out to Borneo!
