Ecuador Team Update (3): Jan ’10
filed in Ecuador on Mar.02, 2010
Hi everyone in chilly England…just to warm you up we thought we’d let you know it’s a sunny 27 degrees here in Ecuador!
Sofie the team leader has been in touch to say that the team are getting on well in Caimito, their final phase (how has it passed so quickly!?) and they seem to be liking the work. Work has been going really well, last week they worked on Faviola’s finca making a plantain water hole and on George’s farm making terraces and planting yucca. Yesterday we made a terrace/trench on the slope on the side of the road near our house to stop the water running down and damaging all the crops below. Today we all worked with the eco-cacoa group in the model garden planting fruit trees and trees for timber.
They were in Atacames last Friday evening when she emailed me but they were hoping to get to Monpiche for the rest of the weekend. She emailed me again on Saturday from Monpiche to add the following:
“We’re just in Mompiche for the weekend, is so beautiful, you should definitely try to make it one day! Everyone’s been fine and we’re all loving the food in Caimito, really delicious! ”
Hope you’re feeling suitably jealous now? : )
Fran
