Arriving in Chicapamba...in style!

A message from Persephone:

We are having the most incredible time! WE are so lucky to have such a nice group of people and so far it has been so much fun!

The Yanapuma staff have been so nice and useful which has really helped us settle in with ease! We have spent today doing excessive shopping in Otavalo market and then bursting into hysterics when we all got back and found our
trousers looked ridiculous as they are way too short!

Yesterday we joined in an annual parade in the community of Chilcapamba and we had to walk with the local indigenous people holding a sign about their eco-tourism and it was an amazing feeling as they all applauded us and thanked us for our help, even the mayor of the nearest big town. It was so nice to feel appreciated!

I will send you another longer email later when i have more time but have to go as we are about to go out for drinks : )

Making friends with the locals!

A message from Bex, Anna and Emily:

Hola!

We´re all currently in an internet cafe in Otavalo and having a good time. we´ve spent a LOT of money today in the market and got some good bargains – although Bex and Anna bought 2 pairs of trousers each without trying them on and they’re a bit too small!! The family back in the village are really friendly and everyone is enjoying the food, except today when we had to buy our own lunch everybody else wanted some greasy western burgers or pizza and all i really wanted was rice and chicken like the food back in the village!

Tomorrow we´re walking to the waterfall just outside of otavalo, so that should be fun.
