Moritz's last Supper (and Tusker!) in Camp

Jambo!

Well, it’s the end of Moritz’s 3 month Leap Solo placement here at Muthaiga and he left us this morning.  Over the past eight weeks Moritz has been invaluable in his assistance to us. Our office/booking manager was taken sick 6 weeks ago and Moritz rose to the challenge and got us through the tough times!

His tasks (in brief) have included:

·      Learning the local languages. both Swahili and Maa.
·      Meeting and greeting clients at the airstrip and at camp.
·      Doing shopping for supplies in both Olmutia and Narok/Nairobi.
·      Assisted in hospital runs for local community members.
·      Organising bush meals for clients.
·      Assisted staff in gathering firewood.
·      Hosting clients at meal time.
·      Organized/assisted in the inventory control of our food supplies.
·      Taught  local staff computer excel and word skills.
·      Ran our booking office while staff have been away.
·      Communicated with international clients by email and telephone.
·      Communicated with  domestic airlines regarding client bookings.

We, the staff and I, are going to miss him very much. Our second Leaper, Ryne, is doing a good job and now that Moritz is gone he will be even busier and excel in his own right.

Keep the Leapers coming!

Greg (Muthaiga Camp manager)
