Hello again lovely readers! So its Friday 14th May Today, so I’m pretty late at putting this blog up for you, however i come bearing BIG NEWS which i have just been dieing to tell you! On Sunday 2nd May we did it! Me, my beautiful mum Maria, Dad Ray, Sister Tara, friend Fran, Auntie Colette, Auntie Sandra, Friend Jo, Co-worker Claud and Boss Guy managed to walk a painful 15 miles for the children of Good Hope!
I will start by telling you that despite all of our hoping (and all of the sunshine dances we had been doing) the weather on the 2nd, as you might remember wasn’t pretty!!…The worst weather on that date for the last 15 years or something….CRAZY!
I very reluctantly got out of bed and it was pooring down and gray outside, but we put on our waterproofs, trainers and about 5 jumpers each and went for it!! (might have helped that i has some nice left over chinese take away to warm me up in the morning before we set off) Ha!
We were all smiles and laughs at the start of the walk….sometimes if you dont laugh, you will simply cry lol. Most of us completed the walk in about 4.5 hours, which isn’t bad going for people who aren’t the most fit and it did brighten up as the afternoon went (thank God)!
Every mile was sign posted and the first 2 miles were a breeze….then i swear someone had been moving all of the posts further apart making each mile longer for a laugh! :-/ nooooooooo!

one more mile to go....the longest mile we have ever know...seriously, who is moving the sign posts?
By the end i felt like i was walking on glass but my spirits were lifted when we crossed the finish line at Stonehenge, got our medals….and a big fat piece of cake! My Lovely Fiance Corrie was at home cooking us a nice roast dinner as well, which was very much appreciated!

After crossing the finish line and bending down to kiss the floor, Jo threw herself on the ground for a well deserved rest!
Everyone was such a good laugh, making it much more bareable and dare i say it FUN…what would i do without my lovely friends and family eh!? …felt like we really did achieve something that day and i think that we managed to raise about £1370 for the orphanage, which is brilliant!!
I cant wait to tell Mathias and the kids!
