It’s been a busy year for the MidLife teams who have explored and contributed across Guatemala, Namibia, Costa Rica and Madagascar throughout 2019.
Together we have saved turtles, built classrooms, restored a clinic and even found ourselves making bricks for a new school in Madagascar. And that's all before we challenged ourselves to the worlds highest zip-wire, swimming with whale sharks, summiting a bubbling volcano, trekking through the primary rain forest and living on remote, and I mean remote tropical islands.
Everyone asks me – which one was the best, which would you do again? That will remain my secret but what I can tell you is each one had its bucket list moment and came with endless kindness and laughter. We laughed as we worked, as we negotiated the extreme and pondered at the absurdity of our new challenges. We honestly felt like we were 18 again and could conquer the world.
One thing I want to say about all the MidLifers of 2019 – you rock. We came together from all over the place, we bonding before the plane took off, you never complained, you worked hard and you played hard. Our project leaders loved your company, efforts, humour and friendship, as did I, so thank you.
So focusing onto 2020. I know there are lots of you who have considered taking the leap (love saying that), so come on... make 2020 your year and join us on this MildLife mission.
