About Under-18 Leaps

For teens seeking personal growth and adventure, Under-18 Leaps offer independent 12-day experiences grounded in the Leaps unique formula of Challenge, Culture, and Contribution.

These Leaps unite students from multiple schools, fostering inclusivity and teamwork.

  • Destinations: Kenya, Peru coming soon
  • Activities: Conservation, community engagement, and cultural immersion
  • Safety First: Supervised by experienced Leap staff, with local guides and comprehensive risk management
  • Certifications: Opportunities to earn the Diploma in International Volunteering (worth 16 UCAS points) and complete the Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award’s Residential section. The Leap is a Gold DofE Approved Activity Provider, offering hard-to-find residential experiences that fulfill the award's requirements.

Diploma in International Volunteering - Stand Out with Academic Achievement 

The Leap offers the optional Diploma in International Volunteering, accredited by the Centre for Global Citizenship Studies (CGCS). This certification adds a significant edge to university applications, demonstrating leadership, global citizenship, and meaningful contributions.

How It Works: 

Participants complete five flexible online modules alongside their Leap journey, supported by CGCS. Each module takes 6–8 hours and builds essential skills in cultural awareness, ethics, sustainability, and leadership.

Kenya Under-18 Expedition

We are currently running our under -18 Leap in Kenya – it is a 12-day experience combining community service, conservation work, and cultural immersion, ending with an adventurous safari into Tsavo National Park.

Highlights:

  • Gaining privileged insights into community life by attending church services and bonding with locals through shared experiences
  • Assisting with sustainable projects like building jiko stoves and helping with water collection for the community
  • Participating in marine conservation efforts, including coral reef regeneration and studying local ecosystems
  • 3 day safari into Tsavo National Park
