Gap Year Programme

Leap to Peru

Ancient Cultures • Epic Treks • Amazon Exploration

Spend three unforgettable weeks exploring one of South America's most diverse and fascinating countries. From community projects in the Sacred Valley and trekking through the High Andes to discovering the wildlife-rich Amazon Rainforest, Peru combines challenge, culture and adventure in equal measure.

Your journey begins in the Sacred Valley, where you'll work alongside local communities, experience traditional Andean life and immerse yourself in a culture shaped by centuries of history. Along the way, you'll visit the iconic Machu Picchu, trek through spectacular mountain landscapes and witness the vibrant colours of Rainbow Mountain.

For your final week, swap mountain peaks for rainforest canopies as you venture deep into the Amazon. Explore jungle waterways by boat, search for exotic wildlife and experience one of the most biodiverse ecosystems on Earth.

Combining meaningful contribution, cultural immersion and epic adventure, Peru is perfect for students seeking challenge, connection and experiences that will stay with them for life.

Our reviews speak for themselves

“Although this is from a personal point of view, I wanted to share the great personal development this trip gave me. I believe travel and any unknown/unusual environments affect and shape any individual. It altered my being in a way I find hard to articulate, it changes and challenges you more than any 9-5 working existence ever could.”
olivia
“The most brilliant company for gap year trips - would highly recommend - organised but also independent - two of mine have done it now and had the best time.”
sarah
“A truly professional and wonderful experience for any young person. I did not expect there to be such good communication between the The Leap and us parents. This was in the form of emails building up toward the trip and during the time away. Very reassuring for parents”
