Protect the Planet

The Bigger Picture

Helping Leapers travel responsibly is at the core of what we do (or to use a fancy name our ‘Environmental Social Purpose Governance (ESG)’. We want our Leapers to explore the world yet leave it a better a place by contributing to our planet protecting programmes.

Through our programmes we protect, restore and fund the environments our Leapers travel to.

Protect

Did you know that an estimated 200 species go extinct every day? At The Leap, we believe in turning this devastating reality into a call for action. When you join us in Kenya, you’ll have the opportunity to educate local fishermen on sustainable practices, improve farming methods, and teach communities about conservation, all while restoring coral reefs. In Costa Rica, you’ll play a vital role in identifying and protecting turtle nests from both human and natural threats, and work alongside locals to combat the plastic pollution that plagues the Pacific coast. And in Cambodia, you’ll contribute to the protection of rescued elephants and support a local NGO with innovative recycling projects.

Through The Leap, you can make a real difference where it's needed most while immersing yourself in some of the world's most remarkable environments.

Restore

Did you know that deforestation is happening at a staggering rate of 30 football fields every minute? At The Leap, we’re dedicated to tackling this crisis head-on. In Kenya, you’ll have the opportunity to plant mangrove trees, helping to restore vital natural sea defences and protect the coastline from rising sea levels. In Colombia, you’ll work closely with local communities to educate them on the devastating impacts of deforestation and teach them how to protect and restore their environment. And in Costa Rica, you’ll assist in marine conservation efforts, helping to reduce plastic pollution and protect the vibrant ecosystems along the coast.

With The Leap, you’ll become part of the solution, making a tangible impact while exploring the world’s most urgent environmental challenges.

Fund

Did you know that every year, The Leap invests over half a million dollars in impactful projects across the globe? The cost of your trip may be temporary, but the positive impact you’ll make on the environment lasts a lifetime. As Greta Thunberg wisely said, “We need to stop funding things that destroy nature and start funding things that restore it.

By joining The Leap, you’re not just exploring the world—you’re actively contributing to its restoration, ensuring your efforts leave a lasting legacy for both people and the planet.

Carbon Offset

One of the most common questions we receive is, "How can we offset our flights?" At The Leap, we take this seriously. When the timing is right, our teams will plant trees or mangroves to help offset the carbon footprint of your journey.

During your adventure, you’ll have the chance to plant saplings, trees, or mangroves yourself. If the season is too dry, rest assured—the next group will continue the effort on your behalf. Our goal is to plant 5 to 10 for every Leaper. Additionally, we support two marine programs in Kenya and Costa Rica, entirely dedicated to reef regeneration.

Our teams are actively involved in coral gardening every day, restoring vital ecosystems and ensuring that your travels contribute to meaningful, lasting environmental restoration.
