Costa Rica Good to know

turtle conservation + cloud forest exploration + beach bliss

Project Background

Our Costa Rica trip is coordinated by the dynamic Chris Patterson, who, together with his wife, family, and team, has created the Jakera Jungle Surf Camp on the Pacific coast.

Chris has been running travel and Spanish courses since the 1990s, and his passion for community-based conservation has only grown over the years. Through his extensive local contacts and in-depth knowledge of the region, Chris has been able to create a truly unique off-grid adventure. He works closely with Cirenas, one of the leading NGOs dedicated to turtle conservation along the Pacific coast, and his guests play an active role in their vital projects.

By participating in these projects, you’ll not only be making a tangible difference but also gaining a deeper understanding of the local culture and environment. With Chris guiding you, this off-grid experience will be one that leaves a lasting impact.

The Leap's Costa Rica purpose-driven trip is coordinated by the dynamic Chris Patterson and family
