Across Asia, Africa, South America and Middle East
In addition to our scheduled adventures, we are making bespoke Midlife adventures 'a thing', responding to the demand from private groups who want to experience our unique combination of challenge, culture, and contribution but working within their own parameters of dates, interests and project contribution.
Your bespoke itinerary will be carefully crafted by us and our network of inspirational global partners on the ground.
Perfect for: families, reunions, clubs, friends, team building. Minimum of 6, all ages. All you need to do is get in touch to start brain storming - we take care of all the logistics.
The first decision to make is where? What type of vibe are you after? Here are our top 3 countries which will deliver a winning itinerary, but other countries we work with include: Sri Lanka, Costa Rica, Kenya, Colombia, Guatemala and Vietnam.
This is perfect for a bespoke adventure as it is only a short flight away and you can literally weave together archaeological sites, Bedouin camps, desert wadi's, star gazing and mud baths in a week and the choice of accommodation is huge, so we can fit all budgets.
Our recommended itinerary would start in the ancient city of Amman where you will have time to explore the famous Citadel and Roman theatre before heading off grid to trek over ancient tracks to reach the splendour of Petra, built over 2000 years ago. But, of course, being a true Midlife, there will be elements of community as you meet one of the last Bedouin communities at Wadi Feynan, and explore Wadi Rum by Jeep and camel, channelling your inner Lawrence of Arabia, before rejuvenating your bodies and mind in the mineral rich waters of the Dead Sea.
Now this is a goodie as it includes 3 different locations and three contrasting experiences. Therefore we recommend that you have at least 12 days available so you can include everything.
Start off in Barichara, nestled in the heart of the canyons, start the day with yoga, where you'll explore the surrounding area with hikes, and contribute to local community projects and initiatives. You'll then fly up to the historical coastal town of Santa Marta, the gateway to the Tayrona National Park. After seeing the old city, you'll head into the National Park for two days of exploring by foot and motorised canoe, meeting indigenous communities along the way and seeing gorgeous jungle vistas.
End your adventure with a visit to one of Colombia's tropical islands for a phase rejuvenation, as you spend your time chilling, snorkelling, and resting. Spend the final few days in the bustling city of Cartagena before flying home.
Just putting it out there - having just returned from the first Midlife trip to Peru - I can honestly say that this is an amazing, humbling, and exciting adventure. It is indeed a physical and mental challenge but so rewarding as you head off the tourist trail to trek through hidden valleys, stay with local families, feast on delicious food, and marvel at vistas that take your breath away. Best thing I have ever done.
We reccommend that you have about 10 days to play with so you can acclimatise fully in and around the stunning town of Calca, whilst living with and helping our NGO partners with their community projects and exploring ancient ruins. After at least 5 days of acclimatisation you will be ready to complete a 3-night, 4 day bespoke trek to Machu Picchu, carefully crafted by our
NGO partners using their local knowledge, guides and community elder
friends. Through their contacts you will access magical mountain
valleys, mystical glacial lakes, and generous Andean farming families
tucked away from tourist's eyes. I promise this is a once-in-a-lifetime
experience which will reboot and invigorate.
