For over twenty years, The Leap has been known for purpose-driven student travel, bringing teams together to experience meaningful contribution, challenge and cultural immersion through our trusted NGO partners around the world.
But over time, something interesting started to happen.
Parents began hearing about the projects, the adventures and the impact their children were experiencing… and they kept asking the same question: “Why can’t we do something like this?” It was a fair question. Because somewhere along the way, travel seemed to split into two camps: pure holiday… or serious volunteering. Rarely both.
So we decided to change that.
Leap Missions were created for adults who don’t just want to see the world, they want to step into it. To travel well, contribute meaningfully, and experience adventure.
What Is a Leap Mission?
Leap Missions are purpose-driven journeys for adults who want their travel to matter.
Each Mission is built around a long-term partnership with a trusted NGO, where participants work alongside local teams to help deliver real project goals, from marine conservation to community resilience.
It’s travel with purpose at its heart.
You’re not just visiting a destination.
You’re contributing to something that matters.
And because this is still The Leap, adventure is always woven in.
How Leap Missions Work
Each Mission follows a simple structure:
Project contribution phase
followed by an adventure finale.
You’ll live simply, work alongside local teams and contribute to clearly defined project goals.
Then, when the work is done, you step back and experience the wider landscape you’ve helped protect.

Who Can Join a Leap Mission?
Leap Missions are designed for:

• a couple
• a group of friends
• a family
• a corporate or leadership team looking for a purposeful offsite
No special skills are required, just curiosity, energy and a willingness to get involved.
How to Join
Leap Missions run in two ways:
Scheduled Missions
Small curated departures throughout the year that individuals and couples can join.
Private Missions
Bring your own group of eight or more and we’ll create a bespoke mission for you.

Mission Kenya Leap
Kenya is more than a trip, it’s a bold step into wild beauty, real connection, and purposeful action. Restore coral reefs, support coastal communities, and experience daily life on the Indian Ocean’s edge. Then head inland for a safari through Tsavo, where elephants roam and red-dust sunsets take your breath away. This is travel that grounds, challenges, and leaves a mark, in all the best ways.
